Trials

To date, there is unfortunately no central and public listing of brain tumour clinical trails currently in Australia.

Advice from our national body, the Brain Tumour Alliance Australia,  indicates that latest information about upcoming trials for brain tumour patient is often through word of mouth among oncologists.  It is really recommended that you ask your oncologist where they are planning to be involved in any trials or alternatively may know of other centres  in Australia which may be involved.

Searching for trials online:

To find out about the latest trials which may be including Australian participants, our members recommend visting this well known US clincial trials website clinicaltrials.gov and enter the words “brain tumours” and “Australia” (no quotation marks) in the relevant search boxes.

The Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research & Information – a non for profit organization which supports streamline the flow of information for brain tumour patients –also runs the The Virtual Trials website .

Found very useful by many of our members, the website provides latest information on trials around the world, as well as the latest information on advances in brain tumour treatments.

The Cancer Council of WA’s clincial trial registry also provides a brief description of brain cancer trials that are open for recruitment in Western Australia. Click for that webpage here.

If you would like more information on any current trials that may be currently underway, it is also important to ask your doctor.

As trials do occur in Australia, we will also post them in the news section of the website.
